MSK Prasad: Virat Kohli’s potential captaincy is made possible by Ajinkya Rahane’s return to test vice-captaincy

MSK Prasad, a former top selector for the Indian cricket team, believes that Virat Kohli has a chance to replace Rohit Sharma as captain. Rohit replaced Kohli as India’s captain in 2022, but questions have been made about his leadership style after underwhelming performances in the T20 World Cup and the World Test Championship (WTC) final.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-69309″ src=”” alt=”” width=”1189″ height=”1031″ srcset=” 241w,×130.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1189px) 100vw, 1189px” />

Prasad recently suggested in a chat that Kohli should be considered as a potential successor to Rohit as captain because of Ajinkya Rahane’s comeback as the Test vice-captain.

“Why Virat Kohli not? Why not Virat Kohli if Ajinkya Rahane can return and take over as vice captain? I’m not sure how Virat feels about serving as captain. I don’t know whether the selectors are considering options other Rohit, but if they are, Prasad said, “I believe Virat might potentially be a possibility.

Prasad made it clear when asked whether Rishabh Pant has the potential to lead India in the future that it is still too early for the wicket-keeper and that Pant should prioritise honing his abilities.

When we were together, he had just appeared. Allow him to return. See what Rishabh Pant has accomplished that no other wicketkeeper-batsman in Indian cricket history has. Because in the history of Indian Cricket, no wicketkeeper has amassed runs and centuries in Australia, South Africa, and England. Allow him to return and to begin practising again. We cannot keep presuming from the standpoint of selection that this or that is conceivable and that we cannot be a layperson candidate. remarked MSK Prasad.
